SYNOPSIS: Jürgen Prochnow gets to play a rare good guy leading role in this forgotten thriller. He goes undercover to work at "The Standard", an unethical German newspaper. They make up the news as they see fit. Subjects of their stories are thrown under the bus and sometimes have their lives ruined. Prochnow has a lot of experience going undercover and plays his part as a ruthless reporter in order to get evidence against the corporation. You'll be surprised to see a young Dieter Laser best known for the starring role as the doctor in the Human Centipede films! He's playing a similarly intense character only this time he's running a newspaper and pushing his contributors for more and more outlandish stories. Prochnow stays on the job as long as he can but soon the police and corporate goons start closing in. Peter Coyote is great as a fellow reporter who long ago sold his soul to the devil. French star Nathalie Baye plays his supportive wife. A serious thriller based on a true story.
