DIRECTOR: Shame of the Jungle: Picha (BC Rock), Boris Szulzinger / The Big Bang: Picha

STARS (voices): Shame of the Jungle: Bob Perry, Christopher Guest, Andrew Duncan, Brian Doyle-Murray, Emily Prager, Bill Murray (uncredited) / The Big Bang: David Lander (Laverne and Shirley), Carol Androsky. Marshall Efron (Bad Manners)

SYNOPSIS: Two R-rated animated films from director Picha on one disc.

Shame of the Jungle (aka Tarzoon, la Honte de la Jungle): Animated parody of Tarzan with our hero “Tarzoon” (aka Shame of the Jungle) a bumbling mess who can’t satisfy his sexpot girlfriend “June”. The plot kicks off when an evil bald woman demands her scientist slaves get her a full head of hair. They tell her a transplant is possible and settle on June as the perfect choice for a “donor”. A small team of anthropomorphic penises kidnap June and Shame must rise to the occasion and save her. On his quest he encounters cannibal pygmies (my favorite sequence), a big game hunter, carnivorous plants, a penis army and a midwest blue collar slob (voiced by John Belushi). Eventually Shame battles the evil ruler and her followers to save his beloved gal. The animation is a lot of fun with tons of nudity and sexual hi-jinx. People sometimes mistakenly confuse this as a Ralph Bakshi film. The English language version was written by original SNL madman Michael O’Donoghue. WIDESCREEN. Running time: 1hr 8mins

The Big Bang: Despite the title this isn’t about the creation of the world but the destruction of it. We see a flashback where an atomic bomb is accidentally set off and World War 3 is started. All the world’s countries launch their bombs until only two new ones survive. One is a combo of the U.S. and U.S.S.R called… U.S.S.S.R. The other is an all-female country called “Vaginia”. The citizens of both countries suffer from extreme radiation resulting in either too many or too few limbs. The U.S.S.S.R. is worried that both countries have a bomb so powerful it could destroy the universe. So, they enlist an ex-superhero turned intergalactic garbageman to travel to Vaginia, disable their bomb, and save the universe. Our hero’s name is Fred and he’s voiced by Laverne and Shirley’s David Lander (aka Squiggy) who sounds exactly like a young Steve Buscemi. He encounters a sexy blonde, Hitler robots, Asian stereotypes and a multi-breasted Nazi-Femme ruler. Another fast moving animated rarity in… WIDESCREEN. Running Time: 1hr 13mins
