SYNOPSIS: Wealthy loudmouth Keenan Wynn is kidnapped for ransom by guerillas in a Third World country (in this case the Philippines). Hard nosed mercenary Ben Gazzara is hired to rescue him and he brings along soldier buddy Paul Winfield to help out. Along the way they run into sleazy Alejandro Rey and sexy Britt Ekland. The ending is a violent bloodbath that ends with plenty of bad (and good guys) dead in the jungle. Gazzara and Winfield do a great job as soldiers of fortune. Winfield in particular looks like he's having way to much fun throwing grenades and shooting people out of trees! This is an overlooked actioner which also has a few things to say about politics, capitalism and privilege. Fans of Dark of the Sun, The Wild Geese, etc. should check this one out!
