SYNOPSIS: A young Nicaraguan boy comes of age in this arthouse import. Growing up poor in the jungle young "Alsino" is full of energy, curiosity and imagination. He's fascinated by a U.S. military man Dean Stockwell. Alsino has dreams of flying and pilot Stockwell is the closet he can get to that goal. The film deals with the overthrow of the Nicaragua's dictator and America's involvement in that struggle. Rebels fighting government troops overshadows Alsino's childhood. He may be naive at the film's start but by the end his eyes are open. Fans of The Battle of Algiers will enjoy this. Subtitled in English.
