The Man Inside (1977)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: Gerald Mayer (The Six Million Dollar Man)

STARS: James Franciscus (The Cat o’ Nine Tails), Stefanie Powers (Die! Die! My Darling!), Jacques Godin, Len Birman (Silver Streak), Ken James (Welcome to Blood City, Heatwave Lasted Four Days)

SYNOPSIS: Made-for-TV crime thriller with a solid performance from James Franciscus. He plays an undercover cop who gets inside a drug dealing criminal organization in Canada. He comes on strong like a guy who doesn’t give a fuck and is willing to get the job done. It’s enough to impress the local crime boss and he’s put on the payroll. Franciscus is just waiting until a really big shipment is set to arrive so the police can bust the gang. One of the best things about the film is that it’s all shot on location. They filmed at Canadian bowling alleys, dive bars, pool halls, bus stations and the overall seedier sections of Toronto & Quebec. The fine supporting cast of character actors will be familiar to genre fans. Stefanie Powers has a really small role as Franciscus’ love interest. Overall it moves along quickly and holds up well.
