SYNOPSIS: Here’s a sleazy movie from 1988 that I somehow overlooked. A disturbed serial rapist “Brandon” (Dugan) tortures and assaults young women in a twisted bid for revenge. It turns out (minor spoiler here) that he contracted AIDS from a prostitute and now wants ALL women to suffer. It starts off with two girls arriving in Los Angeles to pursue their dreams of modeling. Our creep slips the girls tranquilizers, blows cocaine up their noses with a rubber tube and then proceeds to beat and rape them after taking a few photos. Top billed Deborah Shelton plays the head of the agency where the girls have been hired. After the girls’ assault Shelton is interviewed on TV and calls the attacker “a sick, sick, sick animal”. Watching at home the rapist gets angry and clearly wants to make her pay now. After a few more women are raped (and a man is set on fire) he makes his way to Shelton’s home. A grizzled cop (Clarence Williams III) is on the case and eventually catches up with the creep. The movie is pretty dark with the rape scenes genuinely disturbing — especially since Dugan is often laughing and smiling at his victim’s pain.
