DIRECTOR: Eric Lipmann
STARS: Yves-Marie Maurin (Diabolique), Florence Cayrol (The Story of O), Marion Game
SYNOPSIS: In 1975 France a sexually bored bank worker reads an erotic novel and begins fantasizing that he’s the main character. In the book a handsome prince is living it up on the eve of World War I. He has sex with two women, watches lesbians have fun, screws the maid, participates in an orgy and goes to war. The biggest difference between this film and the usual softcore output is the quality. Take away the sex scenes and this still looks like a proper period piece drama. The locations, costumes, performances, photography, etc. are all way above average for this kind of fare. And the women look beautiful with stockings, garters and sexy lingerie in every scene as the camera takes time to appreciate their bodies. The actors are fine and there’s plenty of solid humor throughout the story. Based on the erotic novel “Les Onze Mille Verges” from 1907. In French language with English subtitles. WIDESCREEN
