Funny Money (1983)

$20.00

DIRECTOR: James Kenelm Clarke (Let’s Get Laid)

STARS: Gregg Henry (Body Double, Mean Dog Blues), Elizabeth Daily (Pee Wee’s Big Adventure), Gareth Hunt (The Man from S.E.X.), Derren Nesbitt (Where Eagles Dare), Annie Ross (Superman III)

SYNOPSIS: Cass” (Elizabeth Daily) arrives in London with a bag of stolen credit cards looking for “Ben” (Gregg Henry). She heard through the grapevine that he was “The Credit Card King” and hopes to make some money using his expertise. Instead she finds him living a sad life as a hotel piano player who makes money on the side as a gigolo to rich women. Cass manages to get clothing, meals and a hotel room using her “funny money” but needs Ben to put her in the big time. Meanwhile some local gangsters are keeping an eye on the pair and making them nervous. Eventually the criminal duo start to fall for each other and get into some humorous situations with the London underworld. Fans of the two stars will enjoy seeing them play leading roles in this stage of their careers. Most likely rated PG (?) it’s mild enough to have played in the afternoon on cable TV back in the 80’s.
