SYNOPSIS: Entertaining drama comedy, with some thrills, as a construction legend and his ragtag crew try to finish a skyscraper in record time. After a deadly accident a woman (O'Neill) inherits a construction company. In order to keep a lucrative contract the building must be completed on time. Up against a wall, she reaches out to "Mike Cation" (Majors) for help. He's working as a truck driver and now has a fear of heights after a personal incident. He reluctantly agrees but only if he can select his own crew (ala Dirty Dozen, Magnificent Seven, etc). In fact the film's tagline is: "The Magnificent Eight"(!). The men include genre faves Richard Lynch, Robert Tessier, Roger E. Mosley, Albert Salmi and Terry Kiser. In addition to the time crunch, bad weather & high anxiety they butt heads with a rival construction crew led by villain Harris Yulin and his dopey sidekick R.G Armstrong (in a rare comedic performance). This fits in with other late 70's fare like Convoy, Hooper, etc. I was surprised how well this one holds up - a forgotten gem.
