TAKING OFF dvd
(1971)
DIRECTOR: Milos Forman (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest)
STARS: Buck Henry (The Man Who Fell to Earth), Lynn Carlin (Faces), Paul Benedict (This is Spinal Tap), Georgia Engel ("Mary Tyler Moore Show"), Audra Lindley ("Three's Company", When You Comin' Back Red Ryder), Vincent Schiavelli (Fast Times at Ridgemont High), Ike & Tina Turner
SYNOPSIS: Milos Forman's first American film got rave reviews back in 1971 from The New York Times, Newsday and New Yorker Magazine but today it's practically a "lost" film! This overlooked comedy / drama has strait-laced parents Buck Henry and Lynne Carlin trying to find their runaway teen daughter. In the process they get to experience some sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. A great time capsule of 70's life. Look for Ike & Tina Turner and a very young Kathy Bates as well! A must-see rarity. A fantastic looking WIDESCREEN print!
