SYNOPSIS: This is a really surprising film. On the surface it looks like your typical late night cable T & A fodder — But it's much more. Director Chuck Vincent was always mixing it up with his movies over the years. They always had sex and nudity but they went from dramatic porn (Roommates) to R-rated comedy (Summer Camp) to period piece sword action (Warrior Queen) to horror thriller (Deranged) and more. Having said that this may be his most playful and experimental. This was his second-to-last film and it stars adult film legend Marilyn Chambers as a fictionalized version of herself, a shapely MILF with a "Happy Hooker" / Xaviera Hollander level of sex expertise. Her husband dies early in the film and leaves her with a huge debt that must be paid or she'll lose her house. To make money she decides to start a "Party Girls" service where her sexy workers dress up and entertain guests. Pretty straightforward stuff except everything you're watching is being streamed live — her entire life. This might be the world's first lifestream reality show. There are two groups of home viewers we're shown. One is a pajama party of women and the other a bar full of meathead guys. They comment on the "show" and occasionally Marilyn interacts with them and asks for their advice! She also looks at us (the viewer) and speaks directly. We see the actual film crew as well. Her house is filled with mirrors and they purposely catch the camera dolly, boom guy, light stands, etc. If an actor doesn't like a line they call the script guy in. If an actor needs a coat you might see the wardrobe person step in to deliver it. Actors walk from one set to another and you can see the soundstage. Chuck Vincent appears as the director. At two points in the film Marilyn sings a full song: once by herself, and once with the help of the cast and crew. Outtakes and bloopers are shown at the end. There's a promo for a Party Incorporated t-shirt for sale that appears over the opening credits and a commercial for it after the end credits. Eat your heart out, Charlie Kaufman.
