SYNOPSIS: Annie Potts plays "Bonnie", a woman who finds out she's pregnant from a one night stand but can't bear to tell her blue-collar boyfriend Robert Carradine. Instead she gets scared and hits the road hitchhiking to Canada. Along the way she meets the outgoing, energetic "Rita" (Margot Kidder). They become fast friends and eventually move into an apartment and find work at a local factory. A character driven (female) buddy drama with lots of laughs. Kidder is a blast as the over-sexed, over-opinionated opposite to Potts' mousy wallflower. A nice low-key winner.
