SYNOPSIS: This 'real life' serial killer film takes place in a Texas town circa 1946. A hooded psycho knocks off various townsfolk - men, women, young and old alike. Lawmen Ben Johnson and Andrew Prine investigate the murders without much luck. What sets this film apart from the early 80's slashers is it's documentary feel. Although not particularly gory - the serious tone and lack of flashy filmmaking give the murders a memorable edge. The rural locations and use of non-actors in supporting roles add to the realism. Recommended.
