TAKING OFF dvd
(1971)
DIRECTOR: Milos Forman (ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST)
STARS: Buck Henry, Lynn Carlin, Paul Benedict, Ike & Tina Turner
SYNOPSIS: Milos Forman's first American film got rave reviews back in 1971 from The New York Times, Newsday and New Yorker Magazine but today it's practically a "lost" film! This overlooked comedy / drama has straight-laced parents Buck Henry and Lynne Carlin trying to find their runaway teen daughter. In the process they get to experience some sex, drugs and rock-n-roll. A great time capsule of 70's life. Look for Ike & Tina Turner as well! A must-see rarity.
*For more forgotten comedy see: Hammersmith is Out, Talk of the Town, Mr Sycamore and The Man from S.E.X.
