SYNOPSIS: Hard to believe the writer of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Kim Henkel, wrote (and played a small role in) this redneck classic. This has a real fly-on-the-wall type viewing experience to it. It covers the last night of a good ol' boy honkey tonk bar in a one horse Texas town. The bar is full of colorful characters who bullshit, fight, argue, tell stories and of course drink. Sonny Carl Davis is the loudmouth charmer who practically steals the film as a character everyone simply calls "Cowboy". The film has a documentary style feel to it in the dialogue and pacing. A well written, realistically acted, bit of southern fried drama. Highly recommended.
