SYNOPSIS: You might be surprised that this action-packed exploitation film was directed by genial actor Ossie Davis. Paul Winfield is a Nam vet who returns home to find his wife dead (a victim of drugs) and the whole neighborhood gone to hell. He decides to go to the source of the problem. He gets together a bunch of his army buddies with plans of cleaning the streets. Drug dealers, pimps, kingpins and general street scum are targeted for beat downs and painful death. This is a straight up action exploitation not simply a "Blaxploitation" film. Excellent location shooting in New York City circa 1973 and a great score too. This one really holds up! Recommended.
