DR. TERROR'S
HOUSE OF HORRORS dvd
(1965)
DIRECTOR: Freddie Francis (Torture Garden, Trog)
STARS: Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Michael Gough, Donald Sutherland, Roy Castle, Ann Bell
SYNOPSIS: Considered by many to be one of the best anthology style horror films. Peter Cushing stars as "Dr, Schreck" in the wraparound story as a mysterious fortune teller who uses tarot cards to tell five train passengers their futures. Story elements include a female werewolf, a killer vine that takes over a house and some voodoo revenge. A young Donald Sutherland discovers too late that he's married a vampire. The best tale involves Christopher Lee as a bitter art critic who murders artist Michael Gough only to end up with an even worse problem. Fans of Vault of Horror, Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow will love this one. The cinematography and music are first rate too. Great looking WIDESCREEN print. Highly recommended!
