When visiting sites
or buying products from the folks below - let `em know "J4HI"
sent you!

The folks at the "B Movie Celebration" asked to have
their festival plugged. And I must say, if I lived anywhere near
Franklin, Indiana I'd be there in a minute! Check out the amazing
schedule of films they're screening.
ANGRY
ALIEN PRODUCTIONS Hilarious site with 30 second
"re-enactments" of popular (and cult) films using cartoon bunnies!
Really funny. Check out THE SHINING, RESERVOIR DOGS and PULP FICTION
and now they have one for BORAT! (Note: They do one for TEXAS
CHAINSAW MASSACRE ... but it's for the awful remake -
Uggh!.)

JIM BLANCHARD
Talented and twisted artist who worked on the underground comic HATE
(along with ANSWER ME, BAD MEAT, album covers & more). Check out
his cool art. It seems like everyone has a damn blog these days and Jim
is no exception.

CASHIERS
DU CINEMART Mike White's always entertaining film magazine
features movies (and articles) that you won't finds in other
zines. It's been a while but the newest one (#15) is out! Look for
articles on author David Goodis (NIGHTFALL, AND
HOPE TO DIE) , un-funny movie parodies, an interview with James
Ellroy and more. A great mix of stuff in this new one. UPDATE: Mike
has thrown in the towel (sort of) and there's no guarantee that
another issue will come out.

CINEMA SEWER Robin
Bougie's newest issue (#21) is full of dirty stuff like a
article/interview about watersports, a girl who does public sex vids
in Japan, Tedy Bundy, film reviews and lots of really great comic
art. Be sure to check out his Daily Blog too. He
comes up with some really cool stuff! (Fans of Robin's zine should
contact me for our private list of titles... you know, the kind you
like! info@j4hi.com )
CRITICAL
CONDITION Fred Adelman has
been doing his zine in one form or another for as long as I can
remember. His personal reviews, rants and comments of
psychotronic-type films is usually dead on. He also covers tons of
obscure titles that you just can't find anywhere else. Now that
Psychotronic Video is gone Fred's updated "Obits"
listing is a must! He lets you know about all the recently deceased
cult stars that big publications overlook.
DVD
DRIVE-IN Great site to find out about new genre
releases. Honest reviews tell you what's good and what's crap. Plus
a solid overview of the disc's quality can help overactive fanboys
decide how to spend their money.
Recommended.
HOMESTAR RUNNER Great design and
plenty of LOL on this free animation site. One of the best of it's
type. "Go, Strong Bad!"
KFC
CINEMA First rate site
of Asian films on dvd. Excellent site design. Detailed reviews and
good suggestions on where to buy Asian
imports.
LILEKS
James Lileks has a
few recommended books out ("Interior Desecration" "Gallery of
Regrettable Food"). But his website is a treasure trove of pop
culture, old advertising, photos and weirdness
with his dead-on sense of humor.
Hilarious.
MOVIE
GROOVES Like movie soundtracks? Go here
and try not to spend lots and lots of money.
SECRET FUN
SPOT Remember those old ads in the back of comic books for
X-Ray specs, life-size monsters and hand buzzers? Well, web creator
/ director Kirk Demarais does! That plus a whole lot of pop / junk
culture. This might be the coolest site you've ever seen.

SHOCK
CINEMA MAGAZINE Essential cult
film magazine
that reviews every damn weird film known to man! Steve Puchalski is
to blame. Check out film reviews, catch up on back issues and
pick up Steve's book SLIMETIME. A personal fave and a Must
Have! The new issue (#35) is now available: featuring interviews
with Sy Richardson (CINDERELLA, REPO
MAN) - a whopping 5 pages, Tony Musante (BIRD WITH CRYSTAL PLUMAGE)
and more. Plus the usual reviews of film uber-rarities including this, this and this! Books, zines and more. You really
need to support good ol' paper and ink publications! Steve has even
started up a Shock Cinema
Blog.
SUPER HAPPY
FUN Cool
resource for really rare foreign goodies and obscure arty
farty-type films on dvd-R. You're guaranteed to find films that
you've never even heard of here! NEW: A message board has been
launched for SHF here.
- check it out.
TICK TOCK
TOYS Over at theimaginaryworld.com author and
artist Dan Goodsell has put together a fantastic collection of old
ads, toys, photos and artwork. Tons of cool stuff to see. Check out
Dan's great book "Krazy Kid's Food" too!
TRAILERS FROM
HELL I don't know how I missed this site! If you love
old movie trailers you must check it out. They have over 150
trailers - mostly drive-in type stuff. The best part is you can
watch them with the original audio or with commentary by genre faves
like Joe Dante, Stuart Gordon, Larry Cohen, John Landis and more!
Very cool.
WFMU Straight outta Jersey - The coolest radio
station around - period. If you want to hear the best garage rock
(new and old) DO NOT MISS Bill Kelly's "Teenage Wasteland" on
Sundays from 3:00pm-5:00pm Eastern. Listen live or explore the
archives - you can listen to the past 3 years (!) or so
of shows! Amazing.
Watch this VIDEO and learn why you
should "Go Green". It's 20 minutes long but fascinating.
